Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to making duanduanuk.com usable by the widest possible audience.
Our commitment
Duan & Duan UK LLP is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018, where applicable, and with the broader expectations of the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Equality Act 2010. We aim to make our website usable by the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or the device or assistive technology used.
Standard
We target conformance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA published by the W3C. The site is partially conformant: most of it meets this standard, but there are some known exceptions listed below which we are working to address.
What we have done
- The site uses semantic HTML and ARIA landmarks.
- All pages carry a skip-to-main-content link for keyboard and screen-reader users.
- Text is resizable up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Colour contrast on body text and buttons meets AA thresholds.
- Keyboard focus is visible (outlined) on all interactive elements.
- Chinese-language pages use native CJK system fonts first, ensuring readable rendering on users' own devices rather than waiting on remote font downloads.
- Images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative images are marked as such.
- The site is fully responsive on mobile, tablet, and desktop.
- Forms use labelled inputs, clear error messages, and do not rely on colour alone to convey state.
- We provide a bilingual experience in English and Chinese (Simplified), with a Traditional Chinese mirror for Hong Kong and Taiwan readers.
Known limitations
We acknowledge the following areas where accessibility may be incomplete:
- A small number of older images migrated from our previous site may have alt text that is less descriptive than we would like. We are reviewing these progressively.
- Some historical PDF documents may not be fully tagged for screen readers. If you need an accessible version of any PDF we publish, please contact us.
- Third-party embeds (for example, the Google Map on our Contact page or video content from external platforms) may not meet the same standards as our own code, and are subject to the accessibility of those providers.
Feedback and contact
If you encounter any accessibility barrier on our site, or if you need information from our site in a different format (large print, plain text, audio, or Braille), please contact us and we will do our best to provide it:
- Email: office@duanduanuk.com
- Telephone: +44 20 3036 0264
We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within five working days.
Office access
Our office is at 2nd Floor East, Goldsmith Building, Middle Temple, London EC4Y 7BL — a historic Inn of Court site. Step-free access within Middle Temple is limited in places. If you are visiting us and require specific accommodations (step-free access, a ground-floor meeting room, a BSL interpreter, or any other adjustment) please let us know in advance and we will arrange the best route and meeting arrangements for you.
Enforcement
If you contact us about an accessibility issue and you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
